Our head brewer, Adam, can be a bit of a curmudgeon, and he knew people were going crazy over Hazy IPAs when Twin Span first opened, but he didn't have a recipe under his belt. The 80 East series was created to showcase that journey towards the ideal East-Coast/Hazy IPA. With the brewery located just off an i80 exit, the name was low-hanging fruit.

This recipe went through more iterations than any other at Twin Span as Adam tried different grain ratios, different yeasts, different hops, and different water profiles. Eventually, he landed on a recipe he was happy with - a soft, pillow-soft hazy made with Iowa grown oats and a hop profile reminiscent of Pina Colada.
